Umang Foundation of the Blind Charitable Trust

Welcome to Umang Foundation

Dedicated to empowering persons with visual impairment by providing education, accessibility, and opportunities for independent living. We strive to create an inclusive society where every individual can live with dignity, confidence, and equal participation.

Our Vision

To build an inclusive and accessible society where persons with visual impairment lead independent, dignified, and spiritually enriched lives with equal opportunities in education and employment.

Our Mission

  • Provide accessible education and learning resources for persons with visual impairment
  • Promote inclusive education by supporting students in mainstream schools
  • Enhance spiritual well-being through accessible religious education
  • Develop accessible libraries and learning materials in multiple formats
  • Empower individuals with skills for independence and self-reliance

Our Key Initiatives

  • Quran Teaching for the Visually Impaired

Structured teaching of the Quran through accessible formats, enabling individuals to gain spiritual knowledge independently and live a dignified, self-reliant spiritual life.

  • Umang Accessible Library

Converting books into Braille, Audio, and EPUB formats. While 150,000 new titles are published yearly, only 3,000–5,000 reach accessible formats. We bridge that gap.

  • Umang Residential Support (Umang House)

Safe residential support for students with visual impairment, who attend regular mainstream schools — promoting inclusion while receiving the support they need.

Our Commitment

We are committed to bridging accessibility gaps and ensuring that no visually impaired individual is left behind in education, spirituality, or personal development.
